If paper proves to be both the support and the material of the work of art, the folding of its meaning disturbs what is collected in invariability and permanence, what contracts and holds the diverse. The fold, as an operative concept, becomes the creative principle and the possibility of the event, and all things that come into view are affected by the power of becoming, by the continuum of variation.

Da dobra que chama e traz brings together works on paper from the Figueiredo Ribeiro - Abrantes Collection that manifest the impermanent as a unique invariability.

Resisting linear and centred configurations, the exhibition becomes a network of singularities that belong to the continuum that surrounds them. As the ultimate reason, it is the viewer who is confronted by the precariousness of meaning, the possible truth of things and of themselves.
